SCHOOL-WIDE PAJAMA DAY-- TOMORROW!!! 10/27

Hooray for Pajama Day!

 Friday October 27th

Our scholars have been working hard to follow our
three school expectations:

1. Respect Yourself
2. Respect Others
3. Respect Your Environment

We will be having a school-wide celebration of their hard work on Friday October 27th! Scholars can wear their pajamas to school on this day. They should also wear shoes (sneakers if it is a PE day).

Short Week

It's been a short week, but a busy one!
Enjoy the photos below and have a wonderful long weekend!

Second graders learned about the Mayflower Compact.
All Pilgrims needed to work together in order to succeed.
The Pilgrim men agreed on these laws that they would all follow.

Students focused on features of 3D shapes (number and shapes of faces)
and even practiced drawing them!

Continued with reading groups!

Students used a storytelling voice to show the intent of their writing while reading to a partner!

And a group photo from Shelburne Farms last week!

Mayflower Activity

On Friday all second graders got together to see just how crowded the Mayflower was when it made it's voyage to the New World in 1620.  We taped off 1/3 of the Mayflower's space (because we only have 1/3 of the people between the two second grade classes) in Mrs. Babineau's room.  Students brought their backpacks as the one trunk each family was allowed to bring.  In this space, students laid down to see what it was like to sleep, pretended to fix meals and play games.  It was lots of fun, but very crowded!

We had so much fun celebrating "Fancy Toy Day" and our "Double Recess Day"
