Second graders observed properties of different materials that
"they found in a lunch box, that floated to shore after their boat sank."
They explored the materials for softness, sweat soaking abilities, stiffness and rain repelling.
They will use what they learned to make the best sun hat
"to protect them from the sun, while stranded on a deserted island!"
