Biography Voicethreads!!
Second graders have been reading biographies and learning about various famous people like Martin Luther King Jr and Ruby Bridges! While with Mrs. Redford, students worked with a partner to research a person. After researching, partners wrote scripts sharing all that they have learned. Students then rehearsed their script and then recorded their voices using Voicethread. Below is the link. Please enjoy!
Welcome Ms. Champlin!
Hello,
My name is Allison Champlin and I am the student teacher in your child’s classroom. I am a Vermont native who lives in Waterbury with my two children ages 7 and 14. I am an adult college student who decided to raise children first and go back to school secondly. I received a degree in Early Childhood Ed. in 2011 and will be graduating this May with a degree in K-6 Elementary Ed with a dual endorsement in Special Education from Johnson State. I am having a great time co-teaching with Mrs. Robinson and am looking forward to meeting many of you during parent-teacher conferences.
Respectfully,
Allison Champlin

Settler's Farm Field Trip
Yesterday students were amazing farmers on a beautiful fall day! Thank you to all our parent volunteers! We couldn't have done it without you!

We helped Farmer Mark and the Settler's Farm harvest pounds and pounds of carrots!
We did a relay race! Students sorted food pictures based on whether is was made from a plant or made from an animal. Some foods are made with both plants and animals!
Students brought farm journals and had some time to write in a new environment. We let the farm inspire our ideas. Some wrote poems or fantasy stories about farm animals, while others wrote non-fiction books about plants.
